#consultip 164. Los consultores deben vestirse consistentemente

El otro día encontré un artículo llamado Style: How consultants dress sobre cómo deben vestirse los consultores. En él se mencionan varios tips bastante discutibles pero hay uno que me pareció muy acertado: el de la consistencia.

“The most important point for consultants is that their clothing and accessories should not be a negative distraction for their clients. You can usually achieve this by being consistent. If you are male and wear bow-ties, then always wear bow-ties. Do not surprise your clients by arriving with a ‘normal’ tie. There is nothing wrong with wearing bow-ties or black suits or any other style or affectation you choose, but you must stick with the style that you have chosen.”

Como consultores debemos lograr cierto grado de previsibilidad en nuestros clientes. Ellos buscarán entender cómo somos y encasillarnos de alguna forma. Necesitan poder predecir cómo seremos en ciertas situaciones. Imaginen que quieren presentarnos a su jefe o quieren llevarnos a una reunión importante y no tuvieron tiempo de avisarnos.
